Christmas is my favorite season of the year, and I will be the first to admit has been difficult since leaving Orlando 3 years ago. From the joy found in the theme parks, holiday traditions, and friends, adjusting to Minnesota (especially during a pandemic) has been tough! Luckily for me, I have found a new tradition in The Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis! The Brave New Workshop, which is new to the Hennepin Theatre Trust, showcases funny and raw skits that get you thinking (and hopefully talking) about different situations in our everyday life. This company really transcends the world of comedy with tough social and economical issues.

I attended the opening night of The Best Christmas Show in Three years and I was blown away by all the holiday cheer and funny skits that really made me feel like I was back at home! From mom eating the pot-laced fruit cake to a funny take on the 12 nights of Christmas, The Brave New Workshop kept me laughing and wanting more after the 2-hour show!
The cast, of 4 individuals and a killer piano player, each had a unique and fun personality that meshed with not only the show but each other. This show is for sure going to be a yearly tradition for myself and my wife and based on how packed the theater was, it is for a ton of other families around Minnesota!
If you are looking for some holiday cheer that is on the lighter side and you love to laugh, then The Best Christmas Show in Three Years should be at the top of your list of must-dos! Since the cast is spreading such amazingly good holiday cheer, tickets for this show sell out quickly! Stop worrying about what you need to make, and how the kids are getting on your nerves, and find holiday joy in watching how this amazing cast deals with holiday burnout!
