Last week, the family and I traveled to Florida for a mix of vacation and reviews. One of the places we went was to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. We were searching for a nice restaurant that is good for the entire family that specializes in Seafood, and we decided to try Paddlefish at Disney Springs.

Paddlefish is a fine dining restaurant that showcases some amazing water views aboard a 3 story steamboat that has been transformed into a beautiful restaurant. Paddlefish offers many different dishes but specializes in seafood and traditional boils.

When we went, we started out with some drinks and some crab guacamole for the table. I had the southern sangria which utilized bourbon as its base, and not wine in a traditional sangria. The drinks were refreshing with the right amount of kick to really get the evening started!
The crab guacamole stole the show from the beginning with the sweet blue crab meat, fresh and crisp vegetables, and Tajin-dusted chips. The entire family ate this like we haven’t eaten in days (even our picky 5-year-old)

For the main dishes, I decided to go with their newest entree, the Etouffee. This dish showcases shrimp and crawfish tails in a cajun sauce over basmati rice. If you are looking for a filling, southern-style dish then this one is not to miss!
My kids decided to get the kids boils! These boils are half the size, and half the price of the adult boils and still come with corn on the cob, red-skinned potatoes, and cornbread! My youngest got the peel-and-eat shrimp and the oldest got the crab legs. Both meals were completely gone by the end of the meal.
Lastly, for the bourbon lovers like myself, I wanted to share a special tip! Paddlefish at Disney Springs is one of the only restaurants at Disney that have their own signature barrel pick. Paddlefish’s barrel pick is from Knob Creek and boasts a 120-proof bourbon that is the right amount of sweetness and smokiness! For any bourbon lover, this was worth a drink (or 2) the next time you are at Disney Springs!

Overall, I loved Paddlefish! Great food and drink selections, first-class service, and views that you beg for while you are on vacation really set Paddlefish apart from the rest! The only complaint I got all night was from my 5-year-old who only gave Paddlefish 1 1/2 thumbs up! Sorry Paddlefish, you lost 1/2 of a thumb due to the fact that “she had too much crab and now she’s too full for dessert!” Sounds like 2 thumbs to me…
Next time you are at Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort, make sure you stop in at Paddlefish and give them a try! If you have been, comment below and let m know what you thought!
