Cirque du Soleil does it again! A few weeks ago, the newest Cirque production has taken over the Las Vegas Strip at the MGM Branded NY NY Hotel and Casino! This show took over for Zumanity which closed a few years ago! This show combines the high-energy spectacle of Cirque, intertwined with national headlining comedy acts into one! I had the chance to see Mad Apple for myself, and wanted to share my experience as well as if the new show adds up to the Las Vegas hype!

First off, this show is unlike any Cirque show I have seen before (and I have seen a ton), and I mean that in a good way! When you enter the theater, the atmosphere is more like a nightclub than a theater. There are small performances going on around the stage and you can grab a drink at the stage bar! The bar is built into the stage and allows you to grab a killer drink and be a part of the preshow! Also, if you have ever wanted to know what it’s like to be on a Cirque stage, this show will give you that opportunity due to there being a bar on the stage as well!
This show blurs the line of previous Cirque shows before combining high-energy music, live comedy, circus acts, and the nightlife experience you can only get in the Big Apple! The show runs 80 minutes and I totally recommend arriving early to partake in the pre-show energy!

Once the show begins, you are on a ride full of energy, laughter, and suspense (just like my last NYC Taxi ride!). What makes this show unique is the fact that in between high energy and suspenseful acts, there are national headlining comedians that turn this circus-style show into a comedy club in the snap of a finger! Part of the fun of this show is the fact that you never know which comedian will take over the stage that night!

On the night I was there, I was surprised (and excited) to see Brad Williams take the stage! He is one of the funniest comedians that I have had the pleasure of seeing!

The show acts are apparently rotating, so that adds to the show! I love seeing shows that change often so I can go back and see them again! When I saw the show, the acts ranged from juggling, basketball acrobatics, the Wheel of Death, aerial acts, and more! Combining this with comedy for me, was the perfect combination for my ideal Cirque du Soleil production!
Overall, I feel like Mad Apple is a show for everyone! First off, if you have never seen a Cirque show, this may be a great starter! This gives you a good feel for the amazing production style of Cirque! Next due to the fact that this show rotates pretty much all the acts, this is a great show even if you have seen it before! Cirque fans, fans of comedy, and just people who want to have a good night out will enjoy Mad Apple!
