The results are in and Taste! Central Florida Raised enough money to provide over 1 million meals to hungry children in Orlando!
Taste! Central Florida celebrated its 30th anniversary this year with some amazing food, drinks, and entertainment at the World Center Marriott. There was also a silent auction, ring toss to win bottles of wine, a tree full of gift cards to some of the best restaurants in Orlando as well as a dance party where you wear headphones with multiple channels of music from DJs around the ballroom!
The best part of the event, however, came a few days after the event had ended. Taste! Central Florida is put on yearly to help Second Harvest Food Bank to provide meals for the hungry children in the Metro Orlando area. The statistics are staggering and upsetting. 1 out of every 5 kids will go to bed hungry tonight due. Families will not know where their next meal will come in and that is why Taste! Central Florida is so important to not only me but this community.
Some of the best chefs and restaurants gathered together for one evening, donating food and their time to make sure that the donors and guest at Taste! were fed well and having a great time. The food is always amazing and more than enough to ensure that you will not go home hungry. There is also a steady flow of beer, wine, spirits and more to quench your thirst.
I am happy to showcase that Taste! Central Florida raised $277,154 this year for their 30th anniversary. This money is enough to provide 1.1 million meals to hungry children in Orlando.
I want to thank the chefs, participants, restaurants, volunteers, donors, media ambassadors and committee that made sure Taste! Central Florida was a huge success! Without your help and sacrifice, we would not be able to help end childhood hunger here in Orlando!
