Wonderworks Orlando and Outa Control Magic Dinner Show!

How many of you have driven down International Drive & seen that white, upside down building?  You probably wondered what in the world is inside!  Orlando Fun & Food had the opportunity to see inside & experience all that Wonderworks Orlando has to offer.  And there is a lot to experience!

Wonderworks Orlando

Wonderworks Orlando has many different experiences & ticket options from which to choose!  General admission will allow you to experience all the cool science type exhibits that Wonderworks Orlando has to offer.  With everything from a giant bubble experiment to a bed of nails for, the exhibits are fun & educational.  They appeal to all ages & we saw many parents getting in on all the fun.  In addition, general admission also gets you 1 ropes course & 1 ride in the 4D motion theater.  To this you can add a game of laser tag & also the dinner show. There are 100 interactive exhibits!  The sections include Natural Disasters, Physical Challenges, Light & Sounds, Imagination Lab, Space Recovery, & the Far Out Illusion Gallery.  In the Natural Disasters section, you can experience the winds that accompany a category 1 hurricane, take a seat in The Earthquake Cafe to actually feel the quake of ’89, a 5.3 on the Richter, & feel the icy 28 degree water in which the Titanic sank.  Hold your hand in the water & see how long you can last.  The physical challenges exhibits challenge you to test your physical limitations.  Try to lay on the bed of nails, play virtual sports, or make bubbles you can fit inside.  Take a turn playing mind ball!  Lights & Sound lets you see how fast light travels & play on a big piano.  The Imagination Lab features a giant  Lite-Bright & a fun alien stomping game.  In the Space Recovery section you can explore Mars with a rover & take a turn landing the space shuttle.  You can also design & ride your own roller coaster!  As you climb the stairs to the basement, take a look around the Far Out Illusion Gallery.  The illusion artwork is really amazing!

Next, the dinner show. The dinner show is called the Outa Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show. As you may have guessed from the title, the show is based on magic and really appeals to children and adults alike. The price of the show includes dinner as well! The dinner features a Cesar salad, pizza, & dessert.  Soft drinks, beer, & wine are included with the price.  Once you are seated & the drinks are served, the salad comes out  followed, after a few minutes, by the pizza.  Then the show starts.  It was very entertaining & several tricks left us wondering “how’d he do that?”  The magic show is very interactive with lots of audience participation & the kids really enjoyed it! As far as dinner and a show, this option is great and fits well with the feel of this attraction!

The ropes course was a lot of fun.  It goes up to a maximum height of 36 feet!  My daughter & I geared up to try our luck climbing overhead through all the obstacles.  We were provided free lockers to stow our stuff while we climbed.  After gearing up & a brief instruction/safety lesson, we were told what time to report back.  There’s a large clock on the wall visible from every part of the course.  This was my first time on a ropes course & I really enjoyed it!  I found it to be a nice mix of easy & not-so-easy obstacles.  Also on this floor is the laser tag & the 4D theater.  The 4D theater was interesting.  The “seats” are big individual chairs that recline & rock along with the action on screen.  My daughter enjoyed the show.  The laser tag is in a small area but are lots of spaces to provide cover.  We had a lot of fun hunting each other down & shooting….maybe too much!
