Winter Park is one of our favorite towns in Central Florida due to the natural beauty, the shopping, the food, and the atmosphere. Winter Park has a hidden gem that many locals know about, and we wanted to pass on to you. Winter Park Scenic Boat Tours was started in 1938 and has been going strong ever since. This tour is an hour long and takes you on the seven lakes and through 2 main made canals that connect the lakes. The 18 passenger boats are driven by extremely knowledgeable captains who know a ton about the water, the wildlife, and the houses on the lakes. The cost of the tour is $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children. Make sure you bring cash or a check because credit cards are not accepted here. Tours run daily (except from Christmas) from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. with the last boat returning at 5. The boat dock is located just 5 minutes from Park Ave which has some amazing food and shopping!
This tour was amazing and we got to see a lot of awesome houses, wildlife, and natural beauty. We got to see Rollins College from the water, see some of the most beautiful houses that I have ever seen in Florida, and even floated past the house of my childhood hero, Mr. Rogers! We highly enjoyed seeing the wildlife including the birds. We were however disappointed to find out that most of the alligators were gone.
Make sure if you go to bring your sunscreen and something to drink because it can get hot out there! We went on the first boat ride of the day at 10 a.m. but it was still hot in the summer sun! We also recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early for the time you want to go out because these boats fill up quickly! Make sure you check out this amazing tour and let them know Orlando Fun and Food sent you!
