Ever dreamed about getting face to face with a rare albino alligator? Now is your chance with the Albino Gator Training Encounter at Wild Florida!
Gators are not anything special to people who live in and around Orlando. With this area being the headwater of the Everglades, Gators can be found in just about any body of water in and around the City Beautiful! One type of gator, however, is very rare and can only be found in special places like my favorite wild animal park, Wild Florida. Wild Florida is home to 2 of 20 albino gators in the world. Meet Snowflake and Blizzard, a breeding pair of rare albino alligators!
Its one thing to see these amazing gators up close but Wild Florida gives you the opportunity to take this meeting to the next step by allowing you to take a step into their enclosure and helping to train these beautiful creatures! I had the chance to participate in the training and wanted to share with you what I did and what I thought!
First off, with anything Wild Florida does, safety is their number one concern. At no time did I not feel safe and watched for these encounters. Blizzard and Snowflake are wild animals and the staff treats them as such. When I got into the enclosure, the first thing we did was talk about the Gators and got to see them up close.
Next, in the Albino Gator Training Program, I got to learn the call for the Gators that got them to come over to me. It’s definitely one of those things once you learn you will never forget. I had no idea that the albino gators have terrible eyesight so they use the calls to get them to come toward where they want them to go!
I then got to see their power and agility up-close as I fed them some of their favorite treats! This was one of the coolest encounters I have ever had to see these beautiful creatures so close to me!
Through the entire process, they were snapping pictures for me to take home with me! They even got the Gators to pose near me for one of the coolest pics I have ever gotten! I would highly recommend the Albino Gator Training Encounter at Wild Florida the next time you go down!
