The Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks are definitely worth experiencing, however not every family wants a cookie cutter vacation; they want to do something unique and special. The Walt Disney World Company in Florida offers many unique ways to customize your vacation!

One amazing thing, if you have the time off, is take an extra day and do something different besides the parks, and Disney World offers so much!

Hoop Dee Doo

Want to have an amazing family style dinner with fun and funny entertainment? Get tickets to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue! They have two shows every night and is located at Fort Wilderness. It is comical, offers delicious food, and unlimited drinks galore! It’s a great thing to do that is a fun experience for all ages! Fort Wilderness is easy to get to if you are not staying at the property. You can either drive there, or take a Disney bus from any of the parks or Downtown Disney to Fort Wilderness. If staying on property,  take a bus to any park or Downtown Disney and hop on a Fort Wilderness bus! Make sure you reserve at least an hour of travel time!

Downtown Disney

Want to shop, see a movie, and grab some food? Downtown Disney is a great way to have a relaxing day, do some shopping at unique stores, experience uniquely themed restraunts,  and catch a movie! Other fun things to do here is head to Splitsville, where you can bowl and eat and have some fun! Also, House of Blues has concerts on the weekends if you wanted to enjoy that. Cirque Du Soleil La Nouba also does two shows a night and is really a spectacular show not to miss! Disney Quest is an interactive world for all ages and a ton of fun! End your day perhaps with an AMC movie and catch the latest flicks! Best part about Downtown Disney is that it’s easy to get to whether staying on or off property, and parking is FREE!

Fishing at Walt Disney World

Want a relaxing day of maybe fishing on a boat at Disney World? You can! Motorized, canoe or sailboats, you can rent one and enjoy a day on the water! The most popular, and fun, is to rent it during the evening and enjoy the Magic Kingdom fireworks on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Horse Carriage

Ever wanted to ride a horse? At the Campsites at Fort Wilderness, you can! For the little ones, there is pony rides as well. A 45 minute horseback ride is $46 and is for ages 9+. It includes a relaxing ride through the resort, nature, and animals. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to participate.  Horseback riding not your thing? They have Wagon rides there too! $5 for children 9 and under, $8 for adults 10 and up. It is a first come first served basis from 6pm to 8:30pm daily. Group wagon rides are also availablefor 30 to 35 guests for $300 an hour and can be made 24 hours in advance. Want a carriage ride instead? They have them too! Fits 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children and there are 2 routes yu can choose from. One is around Fort Wilderness, the other is next to a rover near Port Orleans. This adventure is $45 for 25 minutes, however during the Holiday season, it goes up to $79 due to the incredible scenery and sleigh ride feel. Reservations for this can be made 180 days in advance.

New to Walt Disney World that is not only a unique experience, but really fun and unique is the Boathouse boats! You can choose either an amphicar for $125 per car for 20 minutes, the Venezia that holds up to 16 guests and is an Italian water taxi and is $75 ($50 per child under 13) per person for 30 minutes, $115 ($75 per child under 13) per person for 60 minutes , or $1,700 for a private event. Lastly, you can do the Lady Rose for $150 per couple. Both the Venezia and the Lady Rose include chocolate covered strawberries and champagne toasts, and is nicely lit with candlelight.
