Free Admission for Birthday Guests
Every birthday should be wild! Let Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo make it a birthday to remember. The birthday guest will enjoy FREE daytime admission into the Zoo to celebrate with 1,000 animal friends. Guest must present acceptable proof of birth date: driver’s license, birth certificate, passport or military ID. Offer must be redeemed on the individual’s actual birthday with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not combinable with other offers or discounts.
Zoo, MOSI and Florida Aquarium members can take advantage of “Swaptember,” a program that provides free reciprocal admission for the month of September. Members of these three attractions must present a photo I.D. and current membership card for free entry. Find more information here.

¡Vamos a celebrar a los animales! — Let’s celebrate the animals! Join the Zoo for the first ever Carnaval de Animales, or Carnival of the Animals, highlighting the Zoo’s captivating Caribbean, Central and South American animals. The event will feature character appearances by both “Dora the Explorer” and “Diego” from Nick Jr.™, live music and fun with Radio Disney Tampa Bay, bilingual interpreters, multi-cultural food, a variety of vendors. Activities are included with Zoo admission.
World Rhino Weekend
September 20-21 • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Rhino poaching has reached a crisis point, fueled by the growing demand for rhino horn in Southeast Asia. The number of South African rhinos poached in 2013 rose to 1,004 from 668 the prior year. Gather your herd and charge to the Zoo during World Rhino Weekend to learn more about these imperiled animals and the poaching crisis. Stop by the Indian rhino and African white rhino exhibits to meet the zookeepers who work with these amazing animals, and enjoy a variety of rhino-themed activities and educational displays. Come creep around ZooBoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo — the largest family Halloween event in Tampa Bay. It’s a ghoulish good time for all. Don’t miss the thrills, chills and family frights with attractions ranging in “scare factor” including haunted houses, seasonal displays and lights, a specialty gift shop, night rides and more. NEW this year – Get goosebumps exploring turn-of-the-century England in “London Frightmare,” the latest haunt inspired by the city’s most notorious sites and supernatural legends. Ticket prices: Shriek Peek Preview* nights are $12 (ages 3 & up); all other nights are $18 for adults and $14 for children (ages 3-11). Zoo Pass holders receive discounted admission with valid I.D. at ticket windows. Hours are 7-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 7-10 p.m. on other select nights. African Penguin Awareness Day
Saturday, October 11 • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Flock to the Zoo for a day of discovery and fun with our feathered friends! Learn about these endangered birds and the plight of the wild population which is in dramatic decline. Visit the Zoo’s Penguin Beach habitat for educational talks and feedings and watch the charismatic creatures feed, swim, waddle and play. In addition to efforts here at home, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo proudly supports the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB), a nonprofit organization based in South Africa, dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating wild seabirds.

Watch the animals have some Halloween fun with their own pumpkin party, a seasonal treat for the animals and guests at the Zoo. See which animals stomp, chomp, kick, play and pounce on special seasonal treats! The pumpkin toss is part of the animal enrichment program at the Zoo and is included free-of-charge with Zoo admission
Zoofari presented by Ierna’s Heating and Cooling & Bryant
Saturday, November 8 • 7-11 p.m.
For 28 years, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo has served up one of the biggest, tastiest and “wildest” all-inclusive food festivals in the Bay area known as Zoofari. Bring your biggest appetite to this annual fundraising feast, only at the Zoo. For one ticket price, guests can go on a sampling safari of the Bay area’s best restaurants, enjoy open bars, browse the “Art Safari” art auction, and groove to live music throughout the event featuring The Greg Billings Band on the main stage. The VIP Rhino Club, presented by Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners, offers early entry and exclusive use of the beautiful Safari Lodge and outdoor plaza. The Zoo will close at 2 p.m. for set up of Zoofari, which takes place rain or shine. Animals are not on exhibit during the event. Veterans Day Military Appreciation
Tuesday, November 11 • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
In honor of Veterans Day, military personnel (active-duty, retirees and veterans) receive free Zoo admission on that day. The military member will need to show a Department of Defense photo ID at the Zoo’s ticket windows. As many as three direct dependents of military personnel also are entitled to free admission. Dependents may take advantage of the offer without their service member, though an adult must accompany minors.
