Soarin’ Over Walt Disney World?

The rumor mill is buzzing again with news about a Florida version of Epcot’s popular attraction, Soarin’ Over California.

Cast members were advised that there will be night and dawn helicopter flyovers of Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and the surrounding resort areas from April 27th to the 28th.

The nighttime park flyovers would correspond to the “night” scenes at Disneyland to the California version of the attraction. Cast members have been told during training that there were plans to replace the current Soarin’ film at Walt Disney World.

Although cast  members were not told what the purpose of these flyovers were, one can speculate that filming would be taking place for the attraction. Another rumor has it that there will be a pre-show tie-in to the new “Planes 2: Fire and Rescue” movie, set to debut later this summer.

If speculation proves correct, we should be expecting a new film sometime in 2015, when Soarin’ marks its 10th anniversary at Walt Disney World.
