3 Bay area art museums join forces to showcase Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration showcasing artists from the area!
On June 24 Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration will open simultaneously at The Ringling, The Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg, and the Tampa Museum of Art. Works were chosen via an open call for pieces created within the last year and juried by a committee of curators from each participating institution as well as Diana Nawi, a guest juror from Pérez Art Museum Miami.
The full exhibition features 57 artists from Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota County and highlights what is happening right at this moment in the area’s burgeoning art scene. The show is not only a celebration of contemporary art in the Tampa Bay area but also an exercise in collaboration between the museums, fostering a sense of a greater network and community.
It is the very first time that the three leading art museums in the area have worked in such close collaboration to simultaneously provide a single exhibition.
The Ringling will be showing 11 artists in Keith and Linda Monda Gallery for Contemporary Art. Their works display a wide range of mediums, from painting and sculpture to video and conceptual photography installation. The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalogue.
The exhibition runs daily from today until October 15th, 2017 and is included in general admission to The Ringling and the other 2 museums.
Unfortunately, there is no combo price to be able to see all 3 exhibits spanning the 3 museums, however with a paid membership to The Ringling you will get reciprocal entrance into the other museums plus much more!
