The Silver Spurs Riding Club announces its 135th Silver Spurs Rodeo on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6 at 7:30pm at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.
Kicking off rodeo weekend is the annual Miss Silver Spurs Pageant, which takes place on Thursday, June 4 at 6:30pm. Contestants compete in one of three age divisions: Miss Silver Spurs, Junior Miss Silver Spurs, and Little Miss Silver Spurs. Rodeo queen contestants will have already participated in interviews and a horsemanship competition. Winners are announced at the pageant and they spend the next year promoting Silver Spurs Rodeo at events in the community and traveling the country representing the organization. The pageant is free to the public.
For the first time, the Silver Spurs Riding Club is partnering with the Osceola County School District to host the School’s Out Blowout celebration before the rodeo at 5:00pm. This two-night event will include bounce houses, inflatable games, face painting, and more, and is free to the public.
Rodeo performances both nights will include bull riding, bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and team roping. Tickets are $15 per person and children 10 & under and active & retired military personnel (with military ID) receive free admission.
Tickets go on sale today and can be purchased by calling 407-67-RODEO or visiting www.silverspursrodeo.com/
The largest rodeo east of the Mississippi is the work of the Silver Spurs Riding Club, a 501(c)(5) organization started in 1941 by Osceola County ranchers. The club hosted its first rodeo in 1944, selling war bonds as admission to raise funds for the military. The Silver Spurs continues to give back to the community through scholarships and supporting other nonprofit organizations.
