Today, the crowning jewel in New Fantasyland officially opened to the public!  Among the first guests to ride today were seven “littles” along with their “bigs” from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida.   They were joined by Orlando Magic players Victor Oladipo and Tobias Harris.

Wait times today varied from 180 minutes to just over an hour.  The time is easily passed, however, due to the quick load times as well as the interactive elements incorporated into the cue.  Guests are able to collect & sort the gems using a touch screen type interface.  Next, guests can make music using water & light elements.  Once inside the building of the cue, guests can spin the barrels of gems to project scenes on the ceiling of the dwarfs.  Be sure to spin all the barrels at once for a special surprise!

Once you are seated, stash your belongings quickly!  There’s not a lot of extra room so leave whatever you can with non-riders, if possible.  The ride accelerates quickly out of the load area proceeding through some fun twists & turns.  The ride vehicles are unique in that each mine car can sway back and forth.  I didn’t experience much sway although, I did hear guests say that they were able to increase the sway themselves.  Mid-way through the ride, you will enter the mine area to find our favorite dwarfs happily working and singing a song that we all know and love.  This area is really beautiful!  The animatronics are really amazing as well!  You will exit quickly to experience the remainder of the ride with some great drops, twists, and turns along the way.  As you stop at the end, waiting to enter the unloading area, you will get a brief look into the dwarf cottage where Snow White is dancing with them.  Look for the unexpected guest waiting at the door as you pass!

I really enjoyed the attraction, especially after dark!  I thought the queue was fun to pass the time and the ride itself was very smooth (even if it could have been a tad longer).  Children will certainly enjoy this attraction & only need to be 38 inches to ride!
