Enjoy a backstage interaction with some penguins at the Florida Aquarium during the Penguins: Backstage Pass tour!
The Florida Aquarium has a hidden secret that I came across a few days ago. I knew that the aquarium had African Black Footed Penguins before but I have not seen them in some time. After some inquiry, I learned that the penguins were off exhibit while they fundraise to build the penguins a brand new enclosure. They also let me into a fun detail that I wanted to share with you called Penguins: Backstage Pass tour.
The tour is a 30 minute interactive backstage tour where you can spend some one on one time with these amazing penguins! Tours run 3 times a day (1:15p, 2:00p and 2:45p) and cost $30.00 per person and $25.00 for aquarium members. The tour gives you a behind the scenes tour and hands on time with some of the penguins. You also get the chance to speak with one of the biologists who work with these amazing penguins each day!
During the 30 minute tour you get to see the penguins backstage in their enclosure and learn about where they live, what they eat, and how they interact not only with the other penguin but their trainers and guests. After a small talk, the biologist takes one of the penguins out for you to pet, take pictures with and see up close and personal! Make sure you bring your camera because its ok for you to take your photos with these penguins. If you don’t have a camera or forget it, they do have a camera person there to take your photos for purchase.
You also get to see the penguins swim around in a close pool and watch them get fed some of their favorite foods! Make sure you watch out though, these little guys can really make a big splash!
I loved the Penguins: Backstage Tour at the Florida Aquarium! For a small amount in comparison to other facilities you not only get to see and interact with these penguins, but you can also take your own photos which is unheard of!!!
I also recommend this tour to help out the Florida Aquarium. As I stated above, this aquarium relies on the members, guests and donations for the upkeep of the facility, animals and any new projects. Taking the Penguins: Backstage Pass Tour not only helps feed these animals but also helps to build a brand new enclosure to put these guys out on display for everyone to see!!!
Next time you get down to the Florida Aquarium, stop in and get face to face with these amazing penguins in the Penguins: Backstage Pass tour! If you do get down there, let them know Orlando Fun and Food sent you! To learn more about the tour, check out the tour here!
