Guests visiting the “One Ocean” show will notice new safety vests being worn by the trainers.  The new vest, with the tug of a cord, inflates into a flotation device.  It also has a mini scuba pack & regulator with a few minutes of air. Currently, trainers must stay 3 feet away when kneeling on the side of the pool with the whales & 18 inches away while standing.  The vests were custom designed for the trainers over a number of years & are just 1 of several new safety measures in place.  Most others are behind the scenes including new remote controlled gates, new walkways, & platforms that can raise whales out of the water in the pool near Dine with Shamu.

SeaWorld is currently celebrating 50 years!  Click here for more information about the park.
