Light Up UCF set for the 2015 Holiday Season!
Light Up UCF, an affordable family winter wonderland featuring ice skating, rides, and holiday attractions, makes its annual return to CFE Arena beginning Friday, November 13 and running through Sunday, January 3.
Light Up UCF is one of Orlando’s most anticipated holiday attractions. With our 8th season comes brighter lights, snowier nights, and cooler rides. Patrons can expect a magical experience this year at Light Up UCF!
Tickets for ice skating, rides, and photos with Santa can be purchased at the CFE Arena Box Office. Select tickets are also available for purchase through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000. More information for all of Light Up UCF events can be found at www.LightUpUCF.com.
At Light Up UCF, families can enjoy a number of free activities including the Holiday Light Show, the Holiday Film Festival, and parking! The Holiday Light Show, presented by Orlando Sanford International Airport, is made up of thousands of individual lights that pulse and strobe across the arena façade, palm trees, and ice rink in perfect synchronization and choreographed to various holiday songs. The falling snow will create a magical effect during every light show! The Holiday Film Festival allows families to gather under the stars to view their favorite holiday films on a two-story movie screen each Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night.
The Light Up UCF Ice Rink, presented by Central Florida Expressway Authority, has become a fan favorite over the years. Positioned directly in front of the CFE Arena, the ice rink serves as the centerpiece for the event. Guests are invited to enjoy Central Florida’s largest outdoor ice skating rink while gliding along to their favorite holiday tunes spun by a live DJ.
Produced by Spectra, managers of CFE Arena, Light Up UCF features rides suitable for the entire family, ranging from the Hunter Vision Ferris Wheel, where riders can enjoy a panoramic view of the UCF campus, to the Light Up Express Train, great for children of all ages. Visitors can also check out the Arctic Glide Ice Slide, where they can climb to the top of the tower and glide on disc sleds across the 100-foot ice way. Making its annual appearance, the Blizzard offers a whirling and twirling thrill ride, where patrons can twist, tilt, and spin themselves crazy! Visitors can also stop into Santa’s Workshop presented by Coca Cola in the NEW Light Up Lane, where they can share their Christmas wishes and have a photo taken with Santa. The Duke Energy Community Stage will offer visitors local talent to watch and enjoy.
Looking for more holiday fun? The Light Up UCF Knight Run 5k will be back for its third year on Saturday, November 21. A portion of this year’s run will benefit Knight-Thon: UCF’s Dance Marathon benefiting Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and H.O.P.E. Helps, Inc. The Light Up UCF Knight Run is open to participants of all ages and activity levels. Visit www.CFEArena.com for more information on how to register.
