As you know, the beloved Polynesian Resort is currently undergoing a major multi-year expansion & re-imagineering.  Once the transformation is complete, the resort will have a new pool area, children’s center, lobby area, guest rooms, additional lounge area, & the addition of Disney Vacation Club villas.  As part of this transformation,  the resort will return to its original name of The Polynesian Village Resort Hotel.

The first re-imagined area will open later this month.  The children’s activity center, Club Disney, is now taking reservations.  Parents, this center will entertain your little ones (ages 3-12) while you enjoy an evening to yourselves.

The pool area will be completely renovated with the addition of a children’s water play area, a hot tub, & an enlarged deck area with lots of seating for guests.  Nearby, the Pineapple Lanai kiosk will have snacks & beverages including the Dole Whip, which everyone loves.  The Great Ceremonial House will undergo a complete transformation and the addition of Trader Sam’s  Grog Grotto.  This Disneyland-inspired lounge will be highly themed & serve tiki cocktails in souvenir mugs as well as Polynesian-themed small plate options.  Disney Vacation Club will be adding 20 bungalows, some over the water of Seven Seas Lagoon.

Construction is estimated to be complete next year.  Take a look at the concept art below for a preview of what the new Polynesian Village Resort Hotel will look like when complete.  Are you excited about all the changes?
