Guy Harvey finishes giant Mako mural before Mako opening at SeaWorld.
World-renowned marine artist and conservationist Guy Harvey paints a giant signature
mural in the all-new realm, Shark Wreck Reef at SeaWorld Orlando. The 16-foot by 24-foot original artwork features a Mako shark and will join only a handful of murals created by the celebrated artist and will be a focal point in the heart of SeaWorld’s Orlando park.
Guy Harvey, who has a PHD in Marine Studies has combined his love for the sea with his passion for painting. I had the chance to talk to Dr. Guy Harvey about not only the painting but his love for the ocean and why the partnership with SeaWorld Orlando was a great choice!
Guy Harvey, who has been painting for 30 years started his multi-year deal with SeaWorld to create a giant 16 by 24 foot mural showcasing the Mako Shark, which is one of the fastest and most accurate sharks based on speed and their agile ability to breach the water.
Harvey stated that he started working on the mural for SeaWorld last year and will continue to work on artwork for SeaWorld for many years to come!
Dr. Harvey also stated that he will be more present in the parks doing signings, talks and more about his expeditions with sharks, rays, and tigerfish.
If you love the mural, it is available for purchase as a print as well as on t-shirts at a shop that has opened across from the entrance to Mako!
Opening June 10, Shark Wreck Reef blends education and thrills while immersing guests in an underwater world. Mako, Orlando’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster is the centerpiece of the new realm.
