Step out of Central Florida and into an African Safari with the Giraffe Ranch!
If you are a follower of the website, then you will know that I love animal interactions. Luckily here in Central Florida there are a ton of amazing opportunities to get up close and personal with some amazing animals. A few weeks ago I had the chance to go check out the Giraffe Ranch located in Dade City, FL. Lets take a look at just what the ranch has to offer!
The ranch, which is located about 65 miles from Orlando, holds a ton of amazing animals from zebra, rhino, and yes giraffe which you can feed from the truck.
Before your tour, you have the chance to check out some of the amazing animals such as porcupine, monkeys, otters and kangaroo just to name a few. After spending some time looking at the animals you are gathered up for some educational talks about some of the animals as well as the farm before headed out on the tour.
Once on the truck, you spend about an hour checking out some animals as well as getting the chance to feed and pet them from the truck. You learn a ton about the ranch and the animals and just what it takes to take care of them on a daily basis.
The Giraffe Ranch has some add on packages to add to your fun. The first is the Rhino encounter. During the rhino encounter, you get off the truck to get up close and personal with one of two of the rhinos that call the Giraffe Ranch home. Get the chance to pet, feed, and even bathe these amazing animals while the rest of the tour looks on with excitement
The last encounter that I did was the lemur feeding. This encounter which was my personal favorite takes place after the tour is over. You are taken to a large pen full of lemurs where you get inside to feed them! I loved watching them take the grapes from my hand! It was one of those opportunities that I will never forget!
Overall, the Giraffe Ranch is a ton of fun and full of surprises around every corner.
