Orlando Fun and Food showcases Georgia Aquarium on their latest OFF On The Go Adventure!
Our first article from our latest excursion focuses on the Georgia Aquarium located in Atlanta, Georgia. The aquarium which has been open for 10 years now was a gift to the city from Bernie Marcus, founder of Home Depot. The aquarium showcases some of the most amazing variety of fish and mammals to be found inside an aquarium.
The aquarium is broken down into a few different areas such as Cold Water Quest which features beluga whales, sea otters and penguins, Tropical Diver which showcases a variety of tropical fish, stingrays and jellyfish, and Ocean Voyager which was my personal favorite and showcased whale sharks and manta rays! There is also two new additions to the aquarium, one that showcases dolphina in a new show and the other is the return of sea lions with a new exhibit and show!
This aquarium also has a 4D theater which showcased Happy Feet while I was there which I was told was brand new!
While I was there, I was treated to the Behind the Scenes tour which I highly recommend for anyone who is coming to the aquarium! This tour lasts about 90 minutes and showcases some of the things you would never get to see as a regular guest to the aquarium. The tour took us above the habitat of Tropical Diver to see how they upkeep the tanks with a wave machine, inside the aquarium to see how they keep Ocean Voyager so clean and the animals healthy, and finally above Ocean Voyager to see just how big the area is! I absolutely loved my time at the Georgia Aquarium and highly recommend anyone going to or thru Atlanta! As a fan of aquariums, I have to say that the Georgia Aquarium is my favorite aquarium that I have ever been to!
