The Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic 2015 has come to an end, shines brighter each year!
The Food and Wine Classic has once again come and left the Swan and Dolphin at Walt Disney World. If you do not know what the Food and Wine Classic is, it is a two day festival that is put on by the Swan and Dolphin to showcase some of their amazing restaurants as well as some amazing breweries and wineries around the world! Now that the event is over I wanted to give my recap on the event and look to see what 2016 may bring!
This year I took the class entitled Beer Please! This class took place before the Food and Wine Classic began and featured some amazing beers and beer inspired food from the top breweries around the world! This class could be enjoyed from first time beer drinkers to the experienced beer drinker. The class covers how beer is made, homebrewing, rating beer, as well as how to pair some beer with food! In our class we sampled 8 different beers in different ways from a beer float down to bread and cheese made from beer!
The class also helped to showcase the wide variety of beers from the mild all the way to the high IPA’s. The highlight for me of this class was our special visitor. We were visited by the master brewer from 2 of the beers we drank at the class. The brewer spoke about the creative process, how he comes up with his recipes as well as his favorite drinks that he has personally brewed!
After the beer class, I headed out to the causeway to check out all the food, wine and entertainment that was featured this year at the Food and Wine Classic! For 3 hours I sampled food from such restaurants like Shula’s Steakhouse and Todd English’s BlueZoo! We also sampled some of the amazing wine from all different regions of the world like California, Australia, Italy, and South Africa.
Two areas at the Food and Wine Classic that enjoyed the most was the beer garden as well as the new carnival area. The beer garden had samples of beer from all over the world as well as some specialty foods that paired great with the beer. The carnival area had some amazing carnival inspired food such as funnel cakes, corn dogs and a ton more!
I personally cannot wait for Halloween weekend next year to see what the Food and Wine Classic has to bring! This was my 3rd year and I will have to say that this was my favorite year so far. I know that the staff of the Food and Wine Classic will take 2016 to a new level! To learn more about the Food and Wine Classic click on the link here!
