Universal Studios has released some details about the upcoming attraction Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts! The attraction is located at Universal Studios in the new section The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. This new section will feature themed shops, dining experiences, & the new thrill ride all based on Diagon Alley, the London side setting of the Harry Potter series. Islands of Adventure already houses a very popular Harry Potter section & the Universal Studios portion will be approximately the same size although, it will be completely different in it’s offerings and experiences.
The new thrill ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will you be part of the famous scene when Harry, Hermione, & Ron break into the heavily garded Gringotts Bank in order to obtain an object used to defeat Lord Voldemorte. On top of Gringotts Bank keeping guard you will see the fire-breathing Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon. You will also journey through the lobby of the famous bank while the goblins are working before you race through the underground vaults. You will come up against Bellatrix Lestrange before an encounter with Lord Voldemorte himself. The ride itself will feature 360-degree sets, 3D Infitec projection systems, high-def animation, & live special effects. Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative, states that this “will change the way you think about theme park attractions.”
