Move over Mickey Mouse, Drew Thomas brought the real magic back to Orlando with his hit show Transparent!
When someone says the word “magic” in Orlando, most focus their attention on Disney. However, Drew Thomas is trying to shift the focus to his new hit show Transparent! Thomas, who is based here in Orlando, is a master magician who was a finalist on the hit TV show, “America’s Got Talent”. While on the show, Drew Thomas brought his gift into the homes of over 100 million viewers! Even though Drew did not win the competition, he continues to grow his profession and love for magic through his weekly show on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, which consistently ranks as the cruise line’s highest ticketed show. When not performing on the ship, Drew is based here in Orlando where he designs, builds, and masters his latest and greatest illusion!
Drew Thomas showcased his newest show, Transparent here in Orlando a few weeks ago in front of friends, family, and of course his fans! This show was a high paced, energetic show that showcases slight of hand, master illusion, and mental tricks on an elevated stage. What makes this show unique is the fact that the audience not only sits in front of the stage, but also on the sides. Drew Thomas also brought the magic to life by inviting members of the audience onto the stage to help showcase the magic in an up close and personal way.
The illusions that Drew Thomas performed were mind-blowing and amazing. I loved the illusion where Drew switched places with his assistant while he was handcuffed, tied up in a bag, and locked inside a trunk! It happened so fast that it left the entire audience guessing how he did it. I also loved the fact that he did some of his illusions from his time at America’s Got Talent, yet some of the illusions were brand new (to me).
Overall, Drew Thomas showed me just why he not only made it so far on the TV but also why he is the future of magic. I love how detailed Drew is in his illusions and also how precise he is with his craft. After talking to Drew, there is no doubt in my mind this man loves what he does and will go far! Lastly, I asked Drew what was next for him and his team. Besides a possible new deal with the cruise line to showcase his show on more ships there was only one answer, the unknown! I know Drew is going to blow up in the world of magic soon! With a man that determined, the only thing holding him back is his own imagination!
