Comfort food in Orlando Part One- Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel Logo Hi everyone! Kevin here from Orlando Fun And Food. I hope everyone is ready for, and enjoying the start of summer. We are always trying to figure out articles that would be of interest to as many people as possible. I thought of something near and dear to my heart, comfort food. Now, what is comfort food. Well, it can mean different things to different people. If you are happy, and want to celebrate an event, you may have a favorite food that you associate with this event. And if you are not so happy, and you feel you deserve something special, you can go to that special food that will make you happy. But in my case, I usually just wake up one day and have a certain taste in my mouth for something special. So I guess you can say comfort food is food that will make you happy, and get you through the day. I have about 5 places that will do the trick for me. So today my first choice is Cracker Barrel. There are many locations in the Orlando area. All with the Country Store as you walk in where you can do some shopping before, or after you eat. And one big plus with Cracker Barrel is that they serve breakfast all day. The food there is good old southern cooking. All my dad’s family is from Tifton Georgia. They were all farmers and ranchers, and they knew how to eat. I would like to add that I am a creature of habit, and if I find something I like at a restaurant, that is usually what I get when I go there. Cracker Barrel Meal So this lunch consisted of County fried steak, mashed potatoes with sawmill gravy, kernel corn and green beans. It was washed down with a southern staple, sweet tea, and biscuits. The prices here are very good, and you do get a lot of food. There is one bit of information I need to share with you. No matter if you are in the South or not, anytime a plate of hot biscuits is passed to you, take two and butter them while they are hot. Take care, and I see you next week with my number two comfort food choice.
