Kevin here from Orlando Fun And Food. I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July. Todays comfort food entry is Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant. There are Two locations for them in Orlando. One is at 8123 International Dr., and they other one is 7913 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, or most know as 192.
Chuy’s is really a Tex-Mex restaurant, and I really like their food. One of the nice things about Chuy’s is that when you walk in they have one or two ladies making fresh flour and corn tortillas. That is not something you see at other restaurants.
I had a Mexican grandmother, so I tend to be picky about mexican food, but I really like this place. I have never had a bad meal there, and the service is really great.
My usual choice is the Chuychanga, with ground beef, and cheese sauce. It comes with spanish rice, refried beans,s and a small salad on the plate. I like to eat, but I usually take some of it home cause there is so much food.
The one on International Drive might be busy because of the construction of the Orlando Eye project, so you may want to try the other location. I hope you give it a try. Thanks everyone.

I tried Chuy’s for the first time on July 5th, and I loved it! I was the at the I-Drive location (love how that area has grown) and it was busy, but not too busy. The refried beans were fantastic- I usually hardly touch them at other restaurant, but I finished them at Chuy’s. I don’t know what’s different about their recipe, but it’s great!
We made a night of it, walking I-Drive to make my birthday special. Dinner at Chuy’s (I had the Elvis Fried Chicken and it was to die for) then walked to BJ’s brewhouse of cocktails, then off to Vincenzo’s for an amazing italian dessert. Amazing!
