Cafe Murano Review

Cafe Murano Sign

Cafe Murano is located in Altamonte Springs in a quaint little corner spot overlooking the water.  The view is wonderful from most every spot inside the restaurant & certainly more so if you take advantage of the ample outdoor seating.  With lots of live entertainment & a wide selection of craft beers on rotation, this is more than a just a restaurant.  It’s a place to do everything from hang out with friends to a romantic date night.  And the food is even better!!

The menu is varied enough to fit any taste.  Also, since everything is scratch-made, accommodating special dietary needs is no problem!  For those of you with smaller appetites, some of the selections are also available in a smaller portion size.  I think this is a great option & I was glad to take advantage.

To begin our meal, we chose calamari & shrimp diavolo.  The calamari were cooked perfectly.  I enjoy calamari & am really disappointed when it’s overcooked & rubbery.  Not the case at Cafe Murano!  But the shrimp…. so very delicious!  The jumbo shrimp are fried & tossed in a creamy sauce made with sriracha & sweet chili.  The menu states that the sauce is spicy, however, I found it to be not quite so (thankfully).  I really enjoyed the shrimp & look forward to having it again!!  If the appetizers were this good, we were excited to experience the main course.

I chose the small plate portion of lobster & crab ravioli. How can this not be good, right?!?  The ravioli is served in a brandy lobster cream sauce!  The dish is wonderfully full of flavor for all us seafood lovers and the sauce is the most amazing part.  I loved it & was very happy with my selection.  Jason ordered the chicken rollatini which is stuffed with prosciutto, fontina & mozzarella cheese then wrapped in bacon.  It is served in a marsala mushroom wine sauce with garlic mashed potatoes.  Wow!!  When you cut into the roll, the cheese oozes out & you immediately think that this is a wonderful dish.  Then you taste that first bite filled with chicken, bacon, prosciutto, cheese & the wonderful marsala sauce & you KNOW that this was a great choice!!  Jason thoroughly enjoyed every bite of this dish, so much, in fact, that he asked the chef if he could steal the recipe!  Needless to say, this dish was a hit at our table!!

Next, chef prepared a lemonchello dessert for us that was served with a lemonchello shot.  The dessert was light & tart & delicious.  I really enjoyed the shot & thought is was a perfect compliment to the dish.  Also, the presentation was so beautiful! What a great end to a wonderful meal!

From the moment we entered the restaurant, we had wonderful service & felt so welcome.  The atmosphere is so relaxed here making it a great way to end either a stressful day of work or to enjoy time with friends.  Then add in all the delicious food options, beer choices, & live entertainment and you have the perfect combination!  Go give them a try & tell them Orlando Fun and Food sent you!! You won’t be sorry!
