The eagle was found unable to fly and was transported to the state of the art Animal Care Center at Busch Gardens. After some X-Rays, the eagle was found to have a wing injury due to a broken metacarpal bone. Surgery was performed today, and the eagle is resting comfortably. The bald eagle, whose gender is unknown, will stay under the close watch of Busch Gardens’ animal care staff for the next 4-6 weeks and then be moved to a rehabilitation facility.
