Beluga Whale Interaction at SeaWorld San Antonio picks up where Orlando left off!
One of my favorite interaction at SeaWorld Orlando was the Beluga Whale Interaction. I had the opportunity to do the interaction before (read the article here) and was sad to hear that they did away with it here. Last week I went to SeaWorld San Antonio for the opening of Discovery Point and was excited to hear that the interaction was alive and well there! I wanted to share my interaction and what the best points of the day were for me!
The Beluga Swim and interaction takes place at SeaWorld San Antonio and is under the Discovery Point umbrella. The swim cost between $125 and $155 depending on the time of year and admission to SeaWorld is required. The interaction happens twice a day when scheduled and lasts about 2.5 hours total from the time you check in to the time you are done.
Upon arrival to Discovery Point, you check in for your interaction at the check in hut located by the dolphin pool. After check in you are fitted for your wetsuit and given a brief education and safety talk before changing into your wetsuit. Once everyone is changed, you take off by bus to Beluga Bay which is located backstage of the Azul show. You are split into groups and your interaction begins!
I was in a group of 4 and we had the chance to interact with 3 different beluga whales during our 30 minutes in the water. They broke the interactions up into 3 different sections showcasing the behaviors, anatomy and up close photos with some of these amazing whales!
There are SeaWorld professional photographers that will be there at the interaction to photograph your time with the whales. If you do not want to purchase the photos from SeaWorld, you can have friends and family watch buy buying observer spots so your family can watch and photograph your interaction from the side of the pool.
The Beluga Whale Interaction and swim at SeaWorld San Antonio is life changing. To be in the water looking eye to eye with these magnificent animals is something that you will never forget. I highly recommend doing an animal interaction next time you visit SeaWorld San Antonio especially the Beluga Whale swim! I know that it is something that I will never forget!
I want to thank SeaWorld San Antonio for having me out for a few days of fun and food while I was OFF on the Go in Texas! Stay tuned for more articles from Texas coming to Orlando Fun and Food soon!
