BB Kings Orlando Review

‘There are names in the music industry that are universally know such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, an….BB King. BB King is well known for his guitar skills and his amazing blues music! Well, BB King is known in Orlando for more than just the music! Here BB King is also known for legendary food, drinks, and yes, of course, jazz and blues music! Jason spent an evening at the BB King’s Blues Club located at the Pointe Orlando on International Drive a few days ago! Jason got the chance to try some of the great southern comfort food this restaurant had to offer!

Drinks:

We started off our evening with some drinks. I had the Love on the Delta, which was Raspberry Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and Raspberry Liqueur with orange, pineapple and cranberry juices. Personally, I loved this drink! It was refreshing and had a great mix of flavors! Jaca decided to have a Lucille, which is of course a reference to BB King’s famous guitar. The Lucille had Malibu Coconut Rum and Blue Curacao mixed with orange and pineapple juices. Jaca said the drink was full of flavor and wasn’t over-powering. Both drinks came with a glass we could take home at the end of the night!

Appetizers:

After spending some time looking over the menu, we decided on two different appetizers. First we tried the loaded homemade potato chips. We decided on the Classic Spud which had a good mixture of Cheddar and Jack cheese, bacon bits, sour cream and green onions. We also got the BB’s Coastal Crab N’ Tail cakes. These cakes came with a homemade remoulade sauce. Both of these dishes were great and filling. The Classic Spud was a huge dish and could feed a family of 4. The star, however, was the Crab N’ Tail cakes! Great flavor and the sauce was a great addition to the dish!

Entree:

After the appetizers, we decided on 3 different entrees! First, we tried the Eat Like a King Meatloaf! This dish had two huge slices of the meatloaf served with sautéed green beans, mashed potatoes and crispy fried onions! We really liked the flavor of this dish and the serving size was huge! I also loved how the onions went with the meatloaf! Next, we had the Chicken Fried Chicken. This dish was served with with white Cheddar mac n’ cheese and caramelized onion pan gravy. Jaca said that the chicken was a little thin for her, however the flavor of the breading and the sauce were great! Lastly, I went with the Bourbon Glazed Ribeye! This steak was marbled for peak flavor and came with some killer garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. I loved every bite of this steak! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves red meat as much as I do. I also decided to try the ribs on the side and I am glad I did. I went with a dry rub and I would have gladly eaten a lot more of them! They were tender, full of smokey flavor, and made me want more!

Dessert:

For dessert we went with the Bourbon Pecan Pie and the Banana Bread Pudding. The Pecan Pie was absolutely delicious and just as good as my grandma makes! (Please do not tell her that as I will be cut off of future pies) The Banana Bread Pudding was amazing. I have a love for bread pudding and this one was way up there! This bread pudding was almost like a bananas fosters! I will put my seal of endorsement on this Banana Bread Pudding for sure!!!

Atmosphere:

This place feels more like a blues club than a restaurant. Mood lighting, a nice huge bar in the back, and the center focus being a stage that has live music! We loved the feel of this place and feel like it would be a great place to go after a convention or with a group of people to unwind and eat and drink the day away! Also this place is kid friendly! (call before you go because some nights there is a age restriction after a certain time!)

Make sure to stop in at BB Kings and try some of their great food, cold drinks, and take in some live music! If you go, make sure you tell them that Orlando Fun and Food sent you! I know they are looking forward to your visit! Have you been to BB Kings before? If so what did you enjoy about it? Please comment below and let us know!
