Attention runDisney runners:

Are you a runner?  Do you participate in runDisney races?  Do you like to cruise too?  If you can answer yes to any of those questions and you have dreamt of running a 5K on a beautiful island, then I have some great news for you!  Disney has just announced a brand new challenge!  If you have dreamt of running a 5K on a beautiful island, The Castaway Cay Challenge will surely be a hit for runners and cruisers alike.  Here is what runDisney has to say:

This inaugural event will combine any eligible race during Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend plus the Disney Castaway Cay 5K during the January 12 sailing from Port Canaveral, FL on the Disney Dream, hosted on Disney Cruise Line’s private island, Castaway Cay! Complete both races within the pacing requirements and you’ll earn the Inaugural Disney Castaway Cay Challenge Medal in addition to your Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and Castaway Cay 5K finisher medals.

I bet you are wondering what eligible races are included aren’t you?  Well, it is any race that is a 5K or longer.  This means that if you run in the 5K, 10K, full marathon or 1/2 marathon you are included.  You can also participate in the Goofy or Dopey challenges for an added challenge.  The race fee includes your bib, race t-shirt, 5K medal, challenge medal and post race refreshments.  The entry fee doesn’t include your cruise booking though, so be sure to take that into consideration.  A post marathon cruise sure does sound nice to me, even if I have to run a 5K on that beautiful island.

Registration opens Friday, May 23rd at noon eastern so be sure to get ready!
