Dionne Warwick, one of the most successful female singer-songwriters of all time, will make this a Valentine’s Day to remember.  Famous for hit songs such as “Walk on By,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?,” “I Say a Little Prayer for You” and “Alfie,” Warwick’s winning partnership with Burt Bacharach and Hal David helped her become one of the world’s greatest hit-makers.

Only the true greats get to contemplate precisely how to celebrate 50 years in the music business.  Dionne Warwick thought long and hard about how she should mark the five decades since her debut single, “Don’t Make Over” in 1962. That song – written especially for her by the songwriting team of Bacharach and David – became a Top 40 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100, sparking an incredible run of success that has seen her chart over 50 U.S. singles, win five Grammys® and sell one hundred million records.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8232. Commenting on the engagement. Ms. Warwick said, “It will be an honor to perform at such an auspicious benefit, especially one that raises so much money for the veterans, on Valentine’s Day.”

Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 8 p.m.
Walt Disney Theater
Tickets Start at $29.00

Created by famed dance company Pilobolus, Shadowland is a first-of-its-kind performance, combining legendary modern dance with high-energy, fast-paced multimedia, merging front-of-screen choreography with projected images and moving screens of different sizes and shapes.

Shadowland tells the story of a teenage girl, longing for her independence, with nowhere for her thoughts to go but to her dreams. She sleeps, only to wake to something incredible lurking behind her bedroom wall – her shadow. Walls spin, darkness swallows the girl, and she’s off on a journey into Shadowland.

Shadowland was conceived in collaboration with Steven Banks, lead writer for the playfully surreal animated series “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and is propelled by a rhythmic original score by the popular American musician, producer and film composer David Poe. And, it is a signature Pilobolus presentation with the fluid logic of a dream, the grace of an acrobatic dance, the humor of a child and the heart of a love story. It celebrates the strange and wonderful power of the dark to illuminate us in unexpected and utterly thrilling ways.
