3 Reasons Why The Color Run Will Change Your Mindset On Running!

The Color Run isn’t just a 5K, its a party, social event, and charity event wrapped into one!
The Color Run

Last week, I was invited to participate in my first Color Run in Orlando and I wanted to share my top 3 reasons why YOU should participate in The Color Run regardless if you have ever participated in a 5K before!

The Color Run

The Color Run isn’t timed!!!

For some, running isn’t something that they would classify in the fun category. I enjoy running in the gym, on the treadmill, with the AC blasting but haven’t caught the bug for outdoor running. One of the reasons why is the dreaded clock. Most 5K races are just that, a race, which means you are timed to see where you place. Well let me relieve any confusion, the name is The Color Run, not The Color Race! No clocks, no times, no big push to make sure you finish first! The key here is fun!! Also if you are worried about finishing in a certain time or getting “swept” at the event STOP! The party is not done until everyone is finished and you can start the race at any time in a 30-minute window!

The Color Run

The Color Run is a party!!!

Yes, you read that correct! The Color Run is a party with a live DJ, a ton of vendors, photo props, food, and yes color throws to make the most of your time! From the time I arrived until the time I left, I was filled with fun and excitement! I started the race in the first wave and ran my way through, experiencing the color throws at every kilometer mark with onlookers, volunteers, and even other racers cheering you on and pushing you to keep going! When I was done, I had the chance to check out the amazing vendors, sample some food and drinks, and participate in the multiple colors throws that makes this event so memorable!

The Color Run

The Color Run is a Charity Event!!!

Since 2012, The Color Run has given more than 5 million dollars to local and national charities.  This year, The Color Run’s national charity partner is the American Childhood Cancer Organization. They provide life-saving programs for children simultaneously battling cancer and malnutrition in Africa. To learn how to get involved click HERE!

As you can see, The Color Run is a ton of fun and excitement for the entire family! I had such a great time that I think this will be an annual event for me to participate in! I want to thank The Color Run for hosting me for the fun run here in Orlando and can’t wait for the next event!

It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart and on your body. You take something with you… Hopefully, you leave something good behind.
