Join Rick Yancey at Orlando Public Library TODAY for The Fifth Wave!
Rick Yancey, the bestselling author, whose book The Fifth Wave is a new Columbia Pictures film being released on January 21, 2016, is filming a Question and Answer session at the Orlando Public Library on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 5 pm. The Q&A session will be filmed for possible inclusion in the DVD of the film, as a Special Feature.
The event is free and open to the public but due to limited seating of 120 people, registration is required through the website author.eventbrite.com. Starting at 5pm the event is expected to be 90+ minutes in length.
The Fifth Wave is the first part of a trilogy of Young Adult novels that take place in a post-apocalyptic world, with a teen girl as the protagonist. The second book, The Infinite Sea has received rave reviews. The third book The Last Star is due this May, and Yancey will discuss it during the session.
USA Today gave The Fifth Wave film an A rating stating, “Remarkable. Not to be missed under any circumstances.”
Yancey was born and raised in Florida, growing up in Lakeland and presently resides in Gainesville. He is a former IRS employee who wrote the book The Confessions of a Tax Collector when he devoted his full time to writing in 2004. He has also written The Highly Effective Detective series of books.
